Junior Ranger

The junior ranger program is a curriculum service for kids ages 3-13 through the National Parks service.

Through the programs kids ( and parents) learn informative and educational information about the particular park that they are visiting. They are given a booklet or a package filled with activities from word searches, coloring and even fill in the blank.

The kids can earn a badge, patch or a pin. Some offer more than one and each parks badge is unique to the park. If you are unable to complete the activities during your visit, there is a mail back option where they will mail you back the badge.

There are over 400 National Park Services that offer the junior ranger program. Once there, check into the visitor center where all the information can be found from a park ranger.

Most state parks also offer the Junior ranger program. Check the state that you may be in or visiting to see which state parks offers the program.

In Florida they give each child a state park pass that allows them free entry into any state park when they complete the program.

If you are a homeschooler or just a parent looking to add some fun learning, this is definitely the program to check out when traveling. Lots of memories to be made for both you and your child. Click the link to check out our Insta post.
